Jon mentioned last week that we will each be delivering a 10 minute micro teach some time in March. I spoke with a fellow student about ‘green screens’ which was something that came up during my 5 minute (introducing myself) presentation. Currently I would like to use this topic for my micro teach. Below is my current structure:
Teaching objectives
- Be able to identify real and green screen images
- Understand basics of green screens and different set ups (lighting, shadows, surface)
- Be able to set up a simple green screen
- Be able to create own green screen images using the free Veescope live app
- Understand where to download the app from.
Activity
- Real or green screen? – presenting different images and asking the group if it is ‘real’ or ‘green screen’
- Hands on activity – using an iphone to take photos using the – green screen app veescope live
Hi Tim,
Great post thanks! I meant to say in the session that I had a PhD chapter/research on the non-professional use of green-screen that I conducted a few years ago, might be worth sharing some of the research with you!
Speak soon, all best,
Graeme.
Hi Graeme,
Sorry to be so slow in replying. I didn’t realise I had any comments! That sounds amazing. I have now planned everything out and am looking forward to the microteach but would love to read your findings. I will be using an app called Veescope. My aim is that we produce a pop video or at lease the first few lines – To Lou Reed’s Perfect Day. Look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.
Tim
